Hello Parents,

In the absolute interest and protection of our wonderful youth and the attending adult volunteers, it is the wise course to cancel the Youth Retreat at El Tesoro April 3-5.  This saddens me greatly and will undoubtedly be a disappointment for our young people.  However, between the CDC and the local Diocesan ever-evolving directives, this is the appropriate and loving action.    Please pass this on to your young people with my love and understanding.  Thank you.

If you already turned in a check for the registration fee, please let me know if you would like your check returned or simply destroyed.   Thank you.

Look forward! The good news is - I had already reserved Palm Sunday weekend for a 2021 Retreat!

Secondly, as you may already know or have heard, all ministry functions have been canceled by Father for the month of March....and very well will continue longer as we deal as a community with the pandemic.  Because there is so much time and preparation required to pull off a Seder meal, we will cancel that plan (originally 4/15) this year as well.  Again, look forward to 2021!

Thirdly, again out of necessity and honoring the health and safety of our youth and volunteers with "social distancing," we are canceling the Living Stations of the Cross this year.  Very disappointing to be is a beautiful and reverent presentation of our Lord's Passion and Death.  Yet! We will look to the privilege of presenting the drama in the future!   Please encourage your young people to use the simple booklet guiding their way through the Way of the Cross as we otherwise continue through this Lenten season.

Lastly, I will continue to update you as we move through this pandemic emergency, and let you know when we may once again get together as a Youth Ministry community.  Thank you for all you do for your families, our ministry, and St. Benedict's as a whole.  I appreciate and am ever grateful for your support and prayers.

In our Lord Jesus,

Lots of fun (and very little sleep!) were enjoyed by the Youth at the March 6 & 7 Lock-in.  Games, laughter, snacks, and a movie we’re enjoyed by all!  View the photos
