With love and prayer the St. Benedict Quilting Group enjoys making one queen size quilt each year to support the parish. We are not your typical quilting group that meets each month. We start thinking about the quilt usually in March and have it done by October for a drawing (taking most of the winter off). You do not have to be a seasoned quilter to join nor even know how to quilt (and if you do, that’s a bonus for us!). We have opportunities for non-quilters to help us with cutting, ironing, shopping for fabric, and manning our table to accept donations for the drawing.

We usually meet in March to pick a pattern and colors, and set a timeline for shopping, piecing, quilting, binding etc. We do always have a full day late summer where we all meet (and have lunch and fellowship) to put the quilt top together from squares we have pieced. Then comes the quilting and hand sewing the binding. We have a drawing for the quilt in the fall of each year.
