Confirmation

Confirmation

“For ‘by the sacrament of Confirmation, (the baptized) are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.  Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.’”

Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1285

Confirmation is celebrated in our parish every year. Enrollment for the preparation of the Sacrament of Confirmation is open to all baptized students age 14 or older, who will be age 15 by May 1 in the year in which they will be confirmed and who have actively taken part in the Faith Formation sessions for at least one year prior to the year receiving Sacramental preparation.

St. Benedict Parish's Confirmation preparation program is designed to help our young people come to a deeper understanding of how the Holy Spirit works in their lives and in the life of our Church. It also addresses how they can interact with that spirit to lead a life that will draw them into a closer relationship with Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Families whose children attend Catholic schools or whom are home-schooled in the subject of Religion must also register with the parish for the students to receive this sacrament.
